Join us to honor Spike Lee’s award-winning documentary film, When the Levees Broke and the curriculum designed to accompany it, “Teaching The Levees.” New York Times Op-Ed columnist Bob Herbert will moderate a distinguished panel to discuss the questions:

What kind of country are we?

What kind of country do we want to be?

Panel participants include: Lee Bollinger (President, Columbia University), Cynthia Hedge-Morrell (New Orleans Councilwoman), Gloria Ladson-Billings (Professor, University of Wisconsin), and Eddie S. Glaude (Professor, Princeton University). When the Levees Broke co-producer, Sam Pollard, along with Jackie Glover of HBO and Darren Walker of the Rockefeller Foundation will also participate.
 
Invited Guests Include Congressman Charles Rangel, Geoffrey Canada, Joel Klein, and others
